It truly stands out from the usual sea of business books...in quality, thoughtfulness, and voice. We're biased, of course, but we're not just saying that.

   🍽️ This one is special too. Created by a former (but let’s be honest, once Otterpine, always Otterpine) Otterpine team member Abby Houston, Food Stories is a card deck of 72 food-themed conversation prompts designed to spark stories about the meals that shaped us, the flavors that comfort us, and the people we’ve shared them with. It's complete with the cutest and loveliest illustrations by Abby.

3. And a very heartful welcome to a new release joining the Otterpine family, Climate Changed: The Science of Sustainability and How Each of Us Can Do Our Part by Dr. Pablo Ribeiro Dias. 4. Exciting news! Otterpine will be exhibiting at New Voices New Rooms in Atlanta, August 3 to 6. NVNR is an event created jointly by the New Atlantic Booksellers Association (NAIBA) and the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA). If you'll be there, come find us at exhibit space #47! You can get a free copy of the catalog we created for the event (and an occasional surprise or two) mailed to you if you share your mailing address here. ​

5. The Asheville Tourists, our local minor league baseball team rebranded as the Asheville Snot Otters for one night...coincidentally the night that Saeah, our creative director, went to her first local game. Naturally, we got curious. Snot otters aren't otters at all but another name for the hellbender salamander, a native species in Western North Carolina. We find them often under big rocks in cool mountain streams. They got the snot otters name because their skin is coated in a protective mucus that makes them extra slippery which helps them slide between rocks and avoid predators. They also undulate in streams like an otter. Anyway, we went down that rabbit hole for probably longer than we should have 🦎💦
